Our Italian language courses focus on the learner and the knowledge and language skills previously acquired. What we aim at is that students attending our Italian courses should learn to express themselves correctly and effectively. They will learn how Italian is spoken and used in real life and in everyday situations but also get to know Italians and their way of life, as well as their culture and traditions.
Our main concern is the students’ satisfaction and their maximum progress. For that reason we chose a flexible class design which enables us to meet more effectively the needs and requirements of the diverse group and of the individual in a group.
The small class size (4-5 students on average and a maximum of 8) allows the teacher to monitor every participant with particular care. It also guarantees that each student gets individual attention and has the chance to actively participate.
On the first day at Culturforum students are welcomed by the director and the staff of the school. They take a preliminary test (a written grammar test and an interview) to identify their general knowledge and the skills they need to improve. Moreover the test determines the current level of each student and which Italian course they will join at Cultuforum.
Classes are held in the mornings from Monday to Friday. The afternoons are free for the students to socialise, to take part in excursions and free time activities organised by our language school or to explore the town.
The school is open throughout the year and it is possible to start a new course on every Monday except absolute beginner courses (please refer to Starting Dates).
Preparation for the certification exams in Italian as a foreign language (CILS; CELI; PLIDA) is also available.
At the end of the course students receive a Certificate of Attendance.
